You may have heard that we are celebrating after breaking into the top ten of the prestigious Sunday Times
100 Best Small Companies to Work For! It is the fifth consecutive year that we have featured in the list, rising from 26th in 2012 to ninth this year, and were also named as the top small company in the UK for ‘Giving Something
Back’ in recognition of our charity work and ranked as the top in the North West and in the top three IT/technology business’s in this year’s list.
SolutionsPT provides software, hardware and
consultancy services to a raft of major blue chip companies and manufacturers
across the UK. We currently employ 70 people at our site in Cheadle, Cheshire.
The 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list is
compiled following a series of in-depth questionnaires with employees across
the business, covering areas including leadership, personal growth, giving
something back, well being, protecting the environment and work life balance.
Our General manager, Phil Gillard, said:
“To break into the top ten is fantastic and it is wonderful to receive this
recognition. As a small business it is vital we support our local community and
the charitable contribution from the business includes both financial and
non-financial donations within a greater programme of corporate social
responsibility.
“This award is, without doubt, an indication of how
much we value the people within our business. Our industry is suffering from a
skills shortage from both an IT and engineering perspective, and we hope this
will help us to continue to attract and retain innovative and talented people
to what is a really fantastic working environment.”
Louise Potts, SolutionsPT's People and Culture
Manager, added: “Best Companies does make us a more attractive place to work
and drives people to us and that is reflected in the applications we receive which
mention the listing. We also have a very low staff turnover ratio, which is a
compliment in itself.”
The Best Companies survey found that SolutionsPT’s
role of making manufacturing more efficient by conserving natural resources is,
in fact, reflected in our own recycling and water use monitoring. In
addition 86 per cent of the staff reported that they have a happy work life balance
and 91 per cent felt supported by their managers.
