43% of survey respondents noted that bringing innovative, cost effective devices to market efficiently were key to their overall strategy.
20%
of those surveyed said that reducing overall cost of goods was their main
challenge, while18% indicated that reducing the cost of compliance was a critical
issue.The
survey also revealed other areas of importance for medical device manufacturers
including improving customer
supply and satisfaction levels, line extension and communication in the
supply chain.
Steve McCluskey, Business Development Manager - Medical Device for EmsPT said “Our customers often mention that new device development is one of their greatest manufacturing challenges. This survey backs that theory up. It was also interesting to note that innovation is becoming increasingly important in the industry with it being critical to forward planning and operations”.
