The 'Great SolutionsPT Bake Off' for Children in Need

We love a bit of cake here at SolutionsPT. The place is generally overwhelmed with the stuff. With 70 odd people in our building, we've usually got at least 1 or 2 birthday cakes sitting in the kitchen per week.

So what better way to raise money for this year's Children in Need than to hold the Great SolutionsPT Bake Off!

With a number of entries the categories included 'Best Tasting', 'Best Presentation' and 'Best Children in Need theme'.  We also managed to convince two members of the team - Sue and Mike to act as 'Mary' and 'Paul' (which wasn't very difficult).

The top 'tasting' cake award went to Colin who made chocolate brownies - with no less than five types of chocolate (white, milk, dark, cocoa and chocolate spread).  Paul said ‘A very good bake and very moist’. Luckily Colin baked about 300 of these so there were plenty to sell on to the eager audience who wanted to taste them!  It also decided a Wooden Spoon award was appropriate - going to Mandy who purchased a cake from the supermarket  and put it in a Tupperware box.  It was nearly passed off as her own but guilt took the better of her.  Top marks for trying!

"Showstopper" Raffle Prize

One of the other highlights of the day was a lovely piggy bank 'showstopper' cake kindly donated by Paul and Louise Moore as a raffle prize. Overall we raised more than £200 from the sale of cakes, raffles and dress-down donations. Thanks to everyone for their contribution.
