Starting in April 2011, EmsPT, a division of SolutionsPT Ltd, will be running a series of breakfast seminars on lean manufacturing and the use of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) as part of the lean concept. The Lean Sustained Breakfast Seminars will take place in Leicestershire, Merseyside and Wiltshire and will help attendees deliver on the full potential of their manufacturing operations and performance. During the seminars EmsPT will explain how manufacturing, operational and performance targets can be supported through a programme of discovery and will help delegates understand the value that MES can deliver. Anyone involved in scheduling, planning, operations or continuous improvement should consider attending one of these events.
“We recognise that, in many cases, things are far from perfect, but can be sustainably improved through the integration of planning and operational activities,” explained Richard Stone, lean manufacturing manager at EmsPT. “Too many lean programmes start well but fail to gain momentum after the initial time investment. The focus of our events is making lean sustained and continuing to deliver benefits once the initial excitement has worn off.”
Each of The Lean Sustained Breakfast Seminars will incorporate three sessions. The first of these, DRIVE Manufacturing Performance, will help delegates make sense of asset optimisation and on-time delivery. It will focus on common problems found in production schedules and the reality of the numerous constraints felt on the shop floor that prevent their delivery. The second session, DRIVE Manufacturing Operations, will focus on the business benefits of automated traceability and compliance. Finally the third session, DRIVE the ERP connection, will address ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and shop floor integration.
The Lean Sustained Breakfast Seminars are interactive events, with delegates participating at each stage to gain the maximum benefit. EmsPT experts will present aspects of scheduling and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measurements which, when combined, produce a very effective lean manufacturing management solution. This is approached through a range of real life EmsPT projects as well as through direct delegate input.
